We're a bit backed up with all the amazing live footage our pal Lanny has been taking, but here's the first three hot out of the oven! Mylets doing a sick Battles cover, Bangladeafy! ripping it, and Math The Band going wild as always. Check it.

Location: Cornell, Ithaca
Formed: March, 2011
Members:
Lanny Huang-Lead Vox, guitar
William Blessing-Backing Vox, Bass, Keys
Kyle Walsh - Drums
Releases: Not much to speak of
Tell us about yourselves!
Contradictator formed after Lanny completed the February album writing month challenge in 2011. Inundated with new material, he got together William and Kyle to start playing shows.
Fun fact, none of us like the same music. Kyle's a Phish-head, William has an affinity for some classic rock and Frank Zappa, and Lanny likes all iterations of indie-pop, and Jack White
We do however all like internet sensations Pomplamoose as well as Radiohead.
The band is exactly half asian and half white. Kyle always forgets to bring some piece of his drum set to gigs. Lanny once played a show 2 days after having an appendectomy high on pain killers. William has competed in state-level chorus competitions and sings a wicked falsetto, he cannot, however, do punk rock yelling which Lanny does almost exclusively, hearing them sing together is pretty odd.
We're all incredibly excited to be playing our first IU show with Math the Band! They're really awesome. After that we'll be taking a break for a little while as summer tends to disrupt college bands, and Lanny won't be returning to Cornell next semester. But we do look forward to releasing an EP of sorts for the record.

Several weeks into their latest tour, Ithaca Underground's Bubba Crumrine catches up with The Emotron about his new stage show, the new album, his third trip to Ithaca on June 18th at The Shop while getting side tracked talking about flea market finds, road stories, Cryptorchid Chipmunk, Math The Band, candy, and the retirement of dick fires.
IU: Hey Kyle, how are things going on the road?
Emotron: Pretty Good! (To someone else in the distance) Hey, check out these California Rasins!
IU: Huh?
Emotron: I’m talking about my California Raisins! Dude, we’re playing at a flea market tonight and I bought a whole box of California Raisins. (More chatter about comic books and VHS tapes in the background). Sorry about that, Bubba. We have a traveling thrift store now and since we’re playing a flea market tonight, we got into town early to get all the good deals to resell them. We’re talking about our finds for the first time right now.

Ithaca Underground's Bubba Crumrine catches Kevin and Justine of Math The Band on a rare day off on their way back from South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, TX. Several pauses in the interview had to take place for the interviewer or the interviewees to collect breaths from laughing or attempt to get back on task in one of the most fun and hilarious interview we've ever been a part of which gives a great glimpse into what to expect from this candy-fulled, analogue synth fueled duo of crazy people. Today you'll learn about the adverse relationship between good pizza and good shows, Math The Plague, Candy Cereal, the best show food, new tunes, and more. They're Math The Band... who the hell are you?
IU: How was SXSW?
K: It was OK. We played way too many shows each day. We determined that if the show was at a pizza shop then it would not be a good show. If it was not at a pizza shop than it would be a good show.
IU: So there is a relationship between pizza shops and good shows?
