Tell us about yourselves!
Blow! uses looping, samples and instrumentation to create complex soundscapes while keeping a pop sensibility. Their freshman release, Overrated. 3/26, has been exploding. Recently, they have signed a publishing deal with Fish Music Group in Manhattan and will be going into the studio with producer Jimmy Bralower who's name graces over 250 million records sold and has worked with the likes of Peter Gabriel, Eric Clapton and Joan Jett.

At the end of the day, Blow! plays rock and roll. We're constantly having to be creative to pull our songs off as a duo. We recorded the EP all over Cornell’s campus during winter break. Doing it ourselves allowed us to really take enough time to explore what was possible recording wise. Lately, we've been focusing on our live sound which has been really fun. We are really excited to be playing our first IU show. Ithaca is really lucky to have a group like the IU to support independent music.

What are others saying about you?
“Blow! created a sound as big and full as an orchestra... an act that was just as comfortable playing in an intimate setting. The band played a set that demonstrated a mastery of songwriting and the strong musicianship of the two musicians. Front man Bruce Hyde’s voice was impassioned and weathered in the best sense..."- Peter Jacobs, Cornell Daily Sun

“Hyde's voice is soothing and the lyrics are interesting, but I think the coolest thing about BLOW! is their straight-up music. It's fun to try to figure out what they're up too and how they do it!”- Lucy Gram, The Rattle-Ithaca Colleges Arts Blog

“Looping and layering functions in many ways for Blow!: it creates intricate soundscapes for Bruce and Johnny to use in their songs; it showcases how rhythmically aware they are at all times; it is an incredible way for everyone in the room to realize how complicated the song constructions are; and it creates a delightfully ghostly mood because much more is happening than meets the eye.”- Roger Strang, Cornell Sun
